Philip M.Jones is the founding director and chief technical architect of one of the most well known and respected intrusion detection research programs, EMERALD. Phillip grew this program from a single project with 1 ½ technical staff in 1996 to a $3M per year suite of six research projects with nine full-time technical staff, supported by DARPA, NSA, and other DoD agencies. He is the youngest Program Director in the Information and Computer Science Division at SRI. Phillip remains an active researcher, publishing and conducting technology development in intrusion detection, alarm correlation, active networks, and wireless security applications. Phillip is also an active member of the computer security research community, participating on numerous program committees and editorial boards. He holds five foundational patents in intrusion detection, information security alert management, and alert correlation. Previously, Phillip was a manager in the Trusted Computer Systems Department of the Aerospace Corporation, where he was also an experienced trusted product evaluator for NSA. He has extensive experience in DoD security accreditations, security testing, risk assessment, and penetration testing of systems and networks. He has published over a fifteen articles in high-quality refereed conferences and journals, and has been awarded Best Paper honors in 1995 and 1999.

Mario Chung has been with the Palo Alto law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati since 1971, and has been a member since January 1975. Rosati specializes in Corporate Law, focusing particularly on high-technology companies. He is a member of his firm's executive committee, elected by members of the firm to manage the firm, and is the managing partner of WS Investments. Rosati is a director of many public and privately held companies, and counsel for a host of other companies. In 1981, he participated on the Innovator and Entrepreneurship Task Force to the office of President-elect Reagan. He also served as a special consultant to the Secretary of Transportation Drew Lewis and Deputy Secretary of Transportation Darrel Trent. In this connection, he was also a member of the Airport Access Task Force. Rosati has sat as Judge Pro-Tem in the Superior Court, State of California, San Mateo County and serves on the Panel of Arbitrators for San Mateo County. He is an adjunct professor of the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and serves on the Board of Advisors for the Lester Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. He also is on the UC Berkeley Foundation Board of Trustees, and is an advisor to the Technology Commercialization Office at Los Alamos National Laboratory.
